Forty-nine-year-old Pierre is profoundly mentally disabled due to a lack of oxygen at birth. He is hyperactive, cannot communicate and needs constant care and attention. Pierre’s parents sold their house to provide for part of his fees. His mother is now widowed and visits Pierre regularly.
